I have finally come to the realization that people all across the world are looking for something different. In the mist of a pandemic and social unrest, they want something different. Contrary to popular belief, they don't just want a different president or a different political power to be in control. The people don't want a different economic and legal system alone. This difference the world desires requires the church to be different as well.
As painful as is it to say to some and as painful as it will be to hear for others, tradition must die. Tradition that holds us back from God must die. The church has been cemented to the ideals of special seating, gender bias, sexual ambiguity, messy politics, and a tribal and territorial defense of tradition.
How much greater would the church be if we defended one another like we defend the changing of the colors of the walls in a sanctuary? How much better would the world be if the church defended women and children like they defend their messy pastor? How much better would the world be if we were territorial about each other versus who sits where???
Church, this is the generation where our sons and daughters are prophesying. they need greater. The world needs a place of Greater Purpose, Greater Love, and GREATER HOPE! We are tired of the average and we are tired of coming to church and NEVER seeing Jesus.
WE NEED GREATER!
