Dr. JC Campbell

Rev. Dr. JC Campbell, affectionately known as the “Gospel Grasshopper,” is a passionate and inspirational preacher, educator, and community leader. He is the Founding Senior Pastor of Greater Hope Christian Church in Evansville, IN, which has grown from 40 to 500 members in under three years. Pastor JC also serves as the Regional Director for the Center for Congregations, assisting churches across southern Indiana with over $4 million in aid, and is President of the Greater Hope Foundation, providing support and scholarships to students. 

With extensive experience in public and higher education, Pastor JC has held leadership roles at multiple universities and taught in the areas of history, education, and philanthropy. His work in service and philanthropy has earned many recognitions, including the MLK Service Award and Young Philanthropist of the Year Award. He serves on multiple boards, including the American Baptist Churches USA, where he serves as chair and is a proud board member of the North Central Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. 

A native of Louisville, KY, Pastor JC holds Religion degrees from Georgetown College, Oxford University, earned a Master’s in Higher Education from the University of Louisville, and a PhD in Church History from Newburgh Theological Seminary. He is pursuing an EdD in Organizational Learning and Leadership from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and holds an Executive Fundraising certificate from Yale Divinity School. He is also the author of PUSH: Delivering Your Destiny (2021). His greatest joy is his family—his wife, Nesha, their daughters Victoria, Valerie, and Vanessa, and their dog, Vincent.
